Kienholz Named to Class A All-State Baseball Team, Four Govs Honored on All-Region Team

Four Pierre Governors received postseason honors over the weekend. Seniors Brady Getz and Gary Nedved along with juniors Jayden Wiebe and Lincoln Kienholz were named to the Class A All-Region team while Kienholz was selected to first team All-State.

Kienholz was second on the team in average while leading the Governors with a .533 on base percentage, 1.102 OPS and a .569 slugging percentage. Kienholz had nine extra base hits including three triples and two home runs. He also led the team with 26 RBIs. On the pitching side, Kienholz struck out 43 which was tops on the team and had an ERA of 0.32 and WHIP of 0.59.

Gary Nedved led the team in batting average in his senior season as he hit .353 finishing with a team high nine doubles and totaling 11 RBIs. Brady Getz led the team in innings pitched and having 37 strikeouts with a 4.34 ERA and a 1.79 WHIP. Jayden Wiebe hit .304 with three triples and nine RBI out of the leadoff spot for the second half of the season for Pierre. Wiebe also made nine appearances on the mound for the Govs, all in relief with a 4.10 ERA and 1.32 WHIP.

The Governors finished at 14-13 on the season.
