Stanley County, Lyman, Highmore-Harrdol and Jones County Compete at Cecil Johnson Invite

The Lyman Raiders hosted the Stanley County Buffaloes, Highmore-Harrold Pirates, the Jones County Coyotes and a total of 19 teams on Thursday at the Cecil Johnson Invite.

The Stanley County Buffaloes had three second place finishes in the boys side and a second place finish on the girls side. Cormac Duffy was second in both the long jump and triple jump while Barrett Schweitzer would finish in second place in the 300 meter hurdles. The sprint medley relay team of Taylee Stroup, Cadence Hand, Rachel Nemec and Kaysen Magee finished in second place. Carlie O’Conner had a third place finish in the shot put.

Skyler Volmer continued her great start for the Lyman Raiders to the season as she was first in the high jump, second in the triple jump and third in the long jump. Volmer also won the 100 meter hurdles while Ellie Erikson was second in the 100 hurdles and also the 300 meter hurdles. TJ Moran won the shot put throw on the day as he also finished third in the discus. Askel Ehlers placed third in the pole vault and Rory McManus was third in the 300 meter hurdles.

Letha Jessen had the best finish individually for the Highmore-Harrold Pirates as she placed third in the 100 meter hurdles. Jessen was also fourth in the 300 meter hurdles as teammate Brooke Palmer was fifth. The boys relay teams of Peyton McDonnell, Tate Hoffman, Cody and Grady Aasby placed second in the 4×200. The same four were fourth in the 4×100 and 4×400.

The Jones County Coyotes had an event win with Emma Hunt in the 300 meter hurdles. She also placed fourth in the 100 hurdles. Jolie Dugan had two second place results in the 800 meters and the 1600 meters. Chastin Tollakson was third in the triple jump on the boys side while Slade Benedict was fourth in the 100 meter hurdles.
