PIERRE — The South Dakota Department of Transportation is working on Interstate 90 between Presho and Reliance in Lyman County. Crews will mill and resurface with asphalt concrete both east and westbound lanes and on and off-ramps along with structure rehabilitation. Guardrail along the construction zone will also be upgraded. Lane closures will take place during the work and temporary detour ramps will be in place at Exits 235 and 248. Two-way traffic will be placed in the westbound lanes once the ramps are installed from mile post 227 to mile post 236. Two-way traffic be in place in the eastbound lanes from mile marker 242 to mile marker 251. The two-way traffic will be in place the first week of May and will be in place for most of the construction season. A 12-foot width restriction will be in place in the two-way zones with an over-width detour on State Highway 248 from mile marker 226 to mile marker 251. Speed limits in the construction zones will vary from 45 to 65 miles an hour.
