Pierre Tennis Sweep Monday’s Triangular

The Pierre Governor tennis team won two hard fought matches on the day Monday as they beat the Harrisburg Tigers 7-2 and also knocked off Sioux Falls Christian 5-4 for a sweep of the day.

The Govs won five of the six singles flights against the Harrisburg Tigers and two of three doubles flights for the win. Matthew Hanson in flight one, Blake Judson in flight two, Matyas Pribyl in flight three, Luke Leingang in flight four and Spencer Kelly in flight five all won singles competitions while Judson and Hanson along with Leingang and Pribyl won doubles matches.

The bottom flights for the Governors came up big against Sioux Falls Christian as flights four through six won in singles. Leingang, Kelly and Carter Schulz picked up the singles win while Kelly and Crew Heier in doubles flight three won. Hanson and Judson in doubles flight one sealed the team victory with a win over Sioux Falls Christian.

Overall on the day, Hanson, Judson, Leingang and Kelly each went 3-1 for the Govs. Pierre is scheduled to face Aberdeen Central at home on Thursday for a dual, which is weather pending.
