FORT PIERRE — Gloria Hanson and Scott Deal have won terms on the Fort Pierre City Council. Hanson defeated Jim Hoffman 341 to 207 with the incumbent Hanson pulling in 62-percent of voters. Deal returns to the Council from Ward II, defeating incumbent Carl Rathbun in a closer race, 94 to 80. Deal received 54-percent of the vote. The votes will be canvassed by the Fort Pierre City Council at its next meeting on Tuesday April 19th. If the canvass is approved, Hanson and Deal will begin their terms on May 1st.
