Pierre Tennis Finishes 1-2 at Huron Quad

The Pierre Governor Tennis Team went 1-2 on Saturday in Huron beat the Tigers but falling to Watertown and Sioux Falls Lincoln.

The Govs fell 8-1 to the Patriots, one of the better teams in AA this season as Matthew Hanson in flight one beat Isaac Stewart 10-7 for the only Gov win. Pierre fell to Watertown, also in AA, narrowly 5-4. Blake Judson, Luke Leingang and Carter Schulz won their singles matches while Leingang and Matyas Pribyl would win in doubles flight two.

The Governors were able to finish off the day with a win over Class A opponent Huron, 7-2. Hanson, Judson, Pribyl, Leingang and Spencer Kelly all won singles matches while doubles two of Leingang and Pribyl along with doubles three of Kelly and Crew Heier won their respective matches.

The Governors are now 2-3 on the season in duals, but are 2-1 against Class A opponents. Pierre will face Sioux Falls Christian and Harrisburg on the road Monday.
