PIERRE — For the second time in as many months Riggs High math teacher Nichole Bowman received the accolades of the Pierre School Board. Shortly after the March Board meeting when Bowman was named the Pierre School District Teacher of the Year, Bowman was awarded a 25-thousand dollar Milken Educator award. Superintendent Kelly Glodt says school officials knew about the award for about a month…
Those dignitaries included school board members, state Education Secretary Tiffany Sanderson and Governor Kristi Noem. Glodt says there was some concern Bowman might have slipped out of the Riggs Gym and missed the big moment…
Bowman knew something was up with Noem asked all the educators in attendance to stand…
Bowman says the award still hasn’t sunk in yet and continues to get congratulations and requests for interviews about the award.
