Team South Dakota 19U Girls team were unable to avenge its first loss of the tournament Sunday night in the semifinals as they were defeated 3-0 to the Steel City Select.
Steel City scored a goal in each period on its way to remain undefeated and head to the championship contest. Team SD was outshot 34-11 in the loss as Riley Vander Esch stopped 31. Team SD finished the national tournament at 2-3.
Oahe’s Ashton Lee, Olivia Swenson and Alyssa Stahl all had a great tournament for Team SD. Lee will join Team SD teammates Kelsey Amick and Gabby Schroeder at the University of Jamestown to play in the first ever season for the Jimmies.
