Governors Have Multiple Top Ten Finishes in ESD Indoor Invite

The Pierre Governors were back in Brookings on Saturday and a solid performance at the ESD Indoor Invite as Pierre finished multiple events inside the top ten.

The Governor boys finished in sixth place and the girls finished in seventh on the day with scores of 559 and 560.5 respectively. On the boys side, Pierre finished with 13 top ten finishes across the day. Jared Lutmer, Cole Peterson, Josh Strand, Tucker Putzier, Spencer Skjonsberg and Jack Merkwan all had two of those top ten finishes. Lutmer was second in both the 1600 and 3200 meter run. Peterson was fourth in the 200 meter run while also placing eighth in the 4×100 relay with Nathan Ehrisman, Levi Letellier and Tucker Putzier. Josh Strand was seventh in both the 300 meter run and 4×300 relay along with Brady Gere, Putzier and Skjonsberg. Merkwan was fifth in the 60 meter hurdles and fourth in the 300 meter hurdles. Andrew Campea tied for the best finish for any Governor as he was second in the high jump at 5-10 while Skjonsberg was fifth. Brock Moser was ninth in the pole vault for Pierre.

On the girls side, Aliese Christopherson was second in the long jump as she had the best finish of any Governor. Lainey Ranke was ninth and Ryan Barry was 10th. Christopherson was fourth in the triple jump while Makayla Sherwood was eighth and Reinke ninth. Barry was ninth in the high jump for Pierre while Sydney Uhrig was 10th in the pole vault. Reese Terwilliger was fourth in the shot put for the Governors while the Addison Cumbow was third in the 60 meter hurdles. Both Kali Ringstmeyer and Grace Richter were fourth in the 100 meter and 200 meter run.
