A third period power play goal against on Friday to the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers and Team SD 19U falls to 0-1-1 with a 2-1 loss.
Mitchell’s Kelsey Amick tied the game at 1-1 with a power play goal in the first period but it was all Team SD could muster as they were held to just one goal in each of its first two games. Team SD allowed both goals against on the penalty kill as Sioux Falls’ Riley Vander Esch made 21 saves on 23 chances.
Team SD can still make the quarterfinals with a win on Saturday, but they face the 2-0 San Jose Sharks. Puck drop is at 5:40.
