Team South Dakota 14U Girls will now need some help on Saturday as they are 0-1-1 in the national tournament with a 2-1 loss to the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers on Friday.
Brynlee Sabers scored the games opening goal, her second of the tournament early on in the first period to give Team SD a 1-0 lead at the end of the first. However a late short handed goal in the second period for the Jr. Flyers tied the game heading into the third period. Midway through the third period, the Jr. Flyers scored its game winning goal to move to 2-0 in the tournament. Marissa Ready made 22 saves on 24 shots in the contest.
Team SD will face the Tri-Valley Lady Blue Devils on Saturday. The game is scheduled for 10:05 Central Time and it is a must win for Team SD to have a shot at the quarterfinals on Sunday.
