FORT PIERRE — Tonight brings a busy night for the Fort Pierre City Council. At six pm, they will meet briefly as the local Board of Equalization to consider four items before convening at 6:15 pm for the regular Council meeting. Council members will hear from city officials then hold a public hearing for a minor ordinance adjustment adding a word to an ordinance. The Council will then consider approval of that ordinance along with a plumbing and electrical contractor license and personnel item. The Council will set two public hearings for temporary liquor licenses for events at the Stanley County Fairgrounds; discuss a city clean-up and get quotes for a meeting sound system and phone system change. Also on the agenda are an authorization to advertise for street milling and overlay projects and discussion on the State Water Plan application.
