PIERRE — The Pierre City Commission is meeting tonight at the Pierre Municipal Building. The meeting will start as a joint meeting with the Hughes County Commission to consider two plats in the extra territorial area. Two items of special business are on the agenda. The Commission will recognize the Pierre girls wrestling team for winning the first state championship and will make a proclamation for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Month. Commissioners will also consider approval of a beefy 10-item consent calendar including claims, minutes from the previous meeting, two raffle requests, three department promotions and a number of seasonal new hires. A bid for 2022 curb and gutter will be awarded and Commissioners will consider a lease agreement for the 2022 Farmer’s Market. The Commission will also consider an easement with the State of South Dakota for a box culvert on Church Street. The Pierre City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 pm.
