Capitals Fall in Third Place Game as Season Concludes

The Oahe Capitals finished the state tournament at 1-2 as they fell on Sunday to the Sioux Falls 1 Flyers 5-2 in the third place game claiming fourth, matching their seed heading into the tournament.

After a 5-3 win over the Aberdeen Cougars on Friday, the Capitals fell 4-2 on Saturday to the Rushmore Thunder and ran out of steam in the third place game against the Flyers. The Capitals had two goals from Jarron Beck, Ashton Griese and Kennan Howard over the weekend while Carter Sanderson, Barrett Schweitzer and Dre Berndt scored the other three goals over the weekend for the Caps.
