Stanley County Falters in SoDak 16, St. Thomas More Advances

The Stanley County Buffaloes season came to an end on Tuesday in Box Elder as the second seeded St. Thomas More Cavaliers would win a 60-21 decision to advance to the Class A state tournament.

The Buffaloes couldn’t find the offense on the night scoring just 11 points in the first half and another 10 in the second half. Daysen Titze led the way with eight points while Lathan Prince added in six for the Buffs. Titze, Prince, Cormac Duffy, Gavin Irving and Stran Scott, the five Stanley County starters all had their careers come to an end on the night after a successful 15-8 record and reaching the SoDak 16 for the first time ever in school history. Ricardo Garcia and Kaden Heezen, the other two seniors for the Buffaloes ended their careers on the evening.

St. Thomas More advances to the Class A state tournament in Rapid City beginning next week Thursday. The No. 2 seed will face the seven seed Lakota Tech.
