Lyman in Huron to Face Aberdeen Christian in SoDak 16

The presence of the Class B SoDak 16 games shows how tough of a class it really is this year. The Lyman Raiders, at 16-6, are the underdog as the 12 seed facing the No. 5 Aberdeen Christian Knights tonight in Huron for a spot in the Class B state tournament.

The Raiders have won five of the last six games heading into tonight with its lone loss to White River, a team they dropped two of its six losses to. Aberdeen Christian though, has won 15 of 16 with its only loss to Groton, the six seed in Class A. Both teams have fallen victim to White River but the Knights have a win over Waubay-Summit while the Raiders had a 17 point loss.

Aberdeen Christian does not have a single senior on the squad this year. A matchup to see in this one will be Aberdeen Christian’s Ethan Russell at 6’6 and Lyman’s Toby Estes at 6’7. Estes can step out from long range to knock down shots and could potentially help open up the lane if the Knights defend man.

Tip time is scheduled for 6:00 inside the Huron Arena. Both teams are looking to head back to the state tournament again this season.
