Stanley County’s Defense Holds Chamberlain in Win, Advance to SoDak 16

Stanley County’s defense once again showed why this Buffs team is tough to score against as they beat the Chamberlain Cubs 42-36 on Friday night to clinch a berth into the SoDak 16 on Tuesday.

The Buffaloes got their revenge after losing to Chamberlain earlier in the season. Just one player scored in double figures for the Cubs as Dakota Munger finished with 15 as Chamberlain scored 10 points in the fourth, the highest total in a quarter all game. Chamberlain got to the free throw line just six times, all in the second half as they went 3-6.

Lathan Prince led all scorers with 18 points while Gavin Irving had 11 for Stanley County. The Buffs were able to hit their free throws down the stretch going 7-15 in the fourth quarter scoring all but two field goals from the line in the fourth quarter. Head Coach Max Foth says he’s very happy for his team…

Foth credits the defense on the win…

Foth is excited to get the opportunity to play in the SoDak 16 on Tuesday.
