Bill To Fund Health Facility Improvements At State Women’s Prison Moves On To House

PIERRE — A bill to radically improve health care facilities at the state Women’s Prison in Pierre is headed to the House floor after passage Wednesday out of the House Appropriations Committee. Senate Bill 33 would give five-point-seven-five million dollars of federal fund expenditure authority to the Department of Corrections for expanding the medical services area and adding a mental health services area for inmates.
