Stanley County Finishes Strong in Win over Crow Creek

The Stanley County Buffaloes didn’t start the game shooting well, but finished over 50% from the floor in a 63-50 win over the Crow Creek Chieftains in the first round of the Region 6A Tournament.

Strong defense from the Buffaloes helped control the lead at the end of the first quarter as the Buffs led 16-11 holding Crow Creek to just three threes and two free throws. The Buffs would extend their lead by a point by half at 34-27 before ending with a 13 point win. Lathan Prince would lead all scorers with 27 points on the evening while Stran Scott finished with 18 and Cormac Duffy was a rebound away from a double-double dropping 11. Tayln Comes Flying was the only Crow Creek player in double figures with 15 but 10 different Chieftains scored on the night. The Buffaloes will host the Chamberlain Cubs on Friday after Chamberlain beat Dupree 75-27 Tuesday. The winner will advance to the SoDak 16 next Tuesday.
