The Sully Buttes Charger boys led 20-4 after one quarter and 31-16 at the half, and came away with a 61-37 victory Friday night in Bowdle against North Central. The win gave the Chargers their ninth victory of the season against eleven losses, while North Central finished the regular season at 2-18 to head into Region 2B playoff action Monday night.
The Chargers showed good ball handling for a portion of the game, but showed lapses on turnovers—totaling 15 for the night, but the Thunder struggled even more—turning the ball over 23 times.
Leading the way in scoring for Sully Buttes was Dwight Kinney—finishing with 14 points, while Landon Hepker hit for ten from the field and the foul line. Bryce Beitelspacher(beetle-spahker) scored ten for the Thunder, who will be at Miller Monday night for the right to play Region 2B top seed Lower Brule, while the Chargers will be at home the same night hosting the 0-16 Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders, with the winner in Gettysburg Tuesday night to take on second seed Potter County.
