Fort Pierre Man Sentenced In Stanley County In Two Cases Friday

FORT PIERRE — A Fort Pierre man is sentenced Friday on two files from Stanley County. Stanley County States Attorney Tom P. Maher says 34 year-old Nathan Scot Munce was sentenced back in November of 2020 on drug charges to five suspended years in prison. Four years of probation were included in the 2020 sentencing. In May of 2021, Munce was charged with domestic assault for spanking his daughter excessively with a plastic hockey stick. In Court Friday Judge Margo Northup revoked the five year prison term from the drug charge; reinstated it and suspended it again with the requirement Munce complete three years of probation. For assaulting his daughter, Munce was sentenced to 60 days in the Hughes County Jail with five days credit for time served. A case remains pending in Juvenile Court concerning care of the children in the case.
