The Sully Buttes Charger girls and boys both rolled against winless Sunshine Bible Academy Tuesday night in Onida, with the girls picking up a 69-21 victory, and the boys scoring a 72-32 win, with both teams coming out healthy for a final push in the regular season.
The Charger girls were led in scoring by Lydia Hill, who finished with 23 points, while Stevie Wittler added 13, and Allyson Wittler also finishing in double figures with ten points. The entire second half was played with the continuous clock, and head coach Mark Senftner getting some quality floor time for the Sully Buttes bench. Jakki Burma was the leading scorer for the Crusaders with six points.
The Charger boys also used the front court presence to secure their win, with senior Dwight Kinney hitting for 19 points in the low post position, with Landon Hepker adding 16 and Thomas Farries with 11 points. The continuous clock was also implemented midway through the third quarter, and boys head coach Brian White also used his bench to finish the contest. Nolan Treibwasser(treeb-wasser) had a good night for Sunshine Bible, finishing with 15 points.
The Sully Buttes girls are now 15-4 on the season, and the Charger boys up their mark to 7-10, with a crucial doubleheader Thursday night in Onida against Region 2B opponent, the Faulkton Area Trojans. The girls will go first at 6:15, with the boy’s game to follow.
