The Sully Buttes Charger girls couldn’t handle the double low post height of Hamlin, and fell 54-46 Saturday afternoon at the Warner Classic.
Kami Wadsworth controlled the low block at the start, before facing a double team and started with 11 points, and finished with 19 for the afternoon. The Hamlin Chargers also tallied five three pointers to help their cause.
The Sully Buttes Charger girls committed too many turnovers in the first half, and didn’t have enough to make up the difference. Sully Buttes trailed 28-22 at the half, and got it as close as six points, but got no closer. Leading in scoring for Sully Buttes was Addy Chicoine with 14, and Allyson Wittler added 12 for the 14-4 Chargers.
The Hamlin Chargers—showing up in the Class A rankings, push their record to 15-2. Next up for Sully Buttes is two Region 2B doubleheaders—Tuesday at home against winless Sunshine Bible Academy, and Thursday at home against Faulkton Area
