Lions Feast on Cold Chargers, Sully Buttes Falls on the Road

In a makeup game that was to have been played January 15th, the Sully Buttes Charger boys basketball team probably wished they would’ve skipped the makeup match altogether against the Langford Area Lions, and fell hard 55-23 Monday night in Langford.

The game was to have been part of the Pheasant Classic in Redfield, but both teams worked out the rematch after both teams battled illness, and it was Langford jumping out to an early lead, and never looked back.  Leading 29-12 at the half, the Lions pushed the rhythm, and Sully Buttes couldn’t find the rim all night, and was outscored 26-11 in the second half.  The Lions were led in scoring by senior post player Braydon Peterson, who finished with 19 points, and Jesse Keogh added 15 for the 10-5 Lions.  The 5-9 Chargers were led by Marshall Wittler with six points.

Sully Buttes doesn’t have long to lick their wounds, as they travel to Selby Tuesday to take on the Herreid Selby Area Wolverines.  You can hear the call on Country 95.3FM with DT Meyer, as well as on pierre country dot com, and on YouTube at Country 95.3FM sports.
