DRAPER — The South Dakota Highway Patrol has released the name of a man killed early Friday morning when his car struck a grain bin in Draper around 3:30 A-M and caught fire. According to preliminary information about the crash released by the Highway Patrol Monday afternoon, 51 year-old Jason Buie of Mitchell was killed in the crash. The 2020 GMC Equinox he was driving north on 279th Avenue crossed the intersection of Highway 248 and Cemetery Road, struck a stop sign, then impacted the grain bin. The impact breached the grain bin causing corn to spill out. Both the car and some corn caught fire. Buie was pronounced dead at the scene. Seat belt use is under investigation in the crash which remains under investigation by the South Dakota Highway Patrol.
