Pierre Wrestling Finishes Third in Yankton Invite

The Pierre Governor Boys wrestling team finished in third place and had two individuals place second in their respective weight classes in the Yankton invite on Saturday.

Alex Oedekoven in the 106 and Josh Rydberg in the heavyweight, both placed second on the day for Pierre each winning three matches before falling in the championship contest. Noah Williams in the 120 and Gavin Stotts in the 220 both finished in third place while Deegan Houska in the 152, Lucas Chamberlain in the 170 and Chance Carda in the 182 each placed fourth.

The Governors finished with a team score of 178.5 while Rapid City Stevens came out with the team win at 288.5.

You can see a full list of the results below. The Governors will face Mitchell at home on Tuesday as part of a doubleheader with the girls basketball team facing Huron. The dual against Mitchell will begin at 5:00.
