Watertown Scores Late to Force Overtime, Beat Lady Capitals

Watertown’s Jaclyn Lloyd scored all four regulation goals, the fourth with just over a minute left and Janel Lloyd netted the game winner as the Watertown Lakers escape the Expo Center with a win over the Oahe Lady Capitals on Pink the Rink Saturday.

The Lady Capitals were able to overcome a 1-0 and 2-1 deficit to take a 3-2 and 4-3 lead late in the second and third but were unable to hold on. Sara Bierne and Ashton Lee had the two tying goals while Brylee Kafka gave the Caps a 3-2 lead on the power play and Cami Larson gave the Caps a 4-3 lead with just over five minutes remaining in the third period. Jaclyn Lloyd scored a 5-on-3 goal to tie the game and Janel Lloyd, short handed, found the back of the net to beat the Capitals as Oahe will most likely remain in the sixth spot heading into the state tournament in Aberdeen next month.

The Caps at now 4-7-3-2, will face Sioux Falls and Aberdeen on Friday and Saturday to close out the season next weekend. Saturday’s game will be on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
