Oahe Capitals Face Watertown Lakers in Annual Pink the Rink

Both the Oahe Capitals Boys and Girls varsity teams will be at home on Saturday as they welcome in Watertown for the second straight year on Pink the Rink night.

The Lady Capitals are coming in picking up a win and three points over the three game weekend last weekend. The Capitals are still looking for a fifth place spot in the state tournament but will need a win over Watertown. The Lakers are currently in fifth place just two points ahead of the Capitals but did beat the Caps earlier in the year 3-2. Jaclyn Lloyd comes in for Watertown with 25 goals which is tied for fourth best in the state. Ashton Lee’s 16 goals are tied for eighth.

The Capital boys will be looking to break out of their scoring slump after a tough weekend with near 100 shots on goal but just one goal in a two losses to Sioux Falls 1 and 2. Watertown’s Owen McBride nearly stole a game against Rushmore between the pipes last weekend as he continues to be one of the best goalies in the state. Carter Schulz will counter in the back of the net for the Capitals who’s done enough to help his team try and get wins over the last weekend.

Coverage of the day begins at 2:10 with the girls game to play at 2:30 with the boys game coverage beginning at 6:40 and puck drop 7:00. Both will be on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports with Jon Winkler and Jim Lloyd on the call. The entire day begins at 10:45 AM with the girls 14U contest for Pink the Rink.
