Badger Selected for South Dakota High School Baseball Hall of Fame

Wednesday morning at Kennedy Elementary where Landon Badger currently teaches, he received a message that will last a lifetime. He will be inducted into the South Dakota High School Baseball Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame began inducting players in 2020 and currently have 36 players inducted, but Badger becomes the first Pierre athlete into the Hall of Fame. In Badger’s time with the Pierre high school baseball team he was selected for the first team All-state twice. He finished with a career batting average of .401 which is the best average in Pierre baseball history with at least 80 at-bats, a career best slugging percentage at .639 and OPS (on base plus slugging percentages) at 1.122. He’s tied for the all-time lead with former teammate Conner Gerber with 26 career steals. Badger holds the single season RBI record with 24 along with Spencer Sarringar. Along with being a gym teacher at Kennedy Elementary, Badger is a JV coach for the Oahe Capitals and part of Post 8’s coaching staff.
