Governor Boys Earn Split of Weekend Falling to O’Gorman, Thumping Harrisburg

The Pierre Governors held a lead on O’Gorman at halftime on Friday but couldn’t pick up the win. However, Saturday, the Governor boys put the throttle down after a halftime lead in Harrisburg to defeat the Tigers by 18.

The Governors on Friday at O’Gorman carried a 24-21 lead at the end of the first half with its largest lead at 10 midway through the second quarter. But it was David Alpers scoring a game high 18 points to lead the Knights passed the Govs 55-49. Matt Hanson had a team high 16 for Pierre while Lincoln Kienholz and Jackson Edman had 14 and 12 respectively.

Saturday the Governors carried a seven point lead into the break but turned on the jets to cruise to a 65-47 win over Harrisburg. Kienholz had the game high 20 points for the Governors while Edman added 18 and Hanson with 14. The Governors improved to 6-7 on the season and will have five days off before its next contest.
