Capitals Offense Frustrated in Weekend Sweep

The Oahe Capitals peppered 93 shots on goal in two games against Sioux Falls 1 and 2 but scored just one time as they fell to the Flyers 1 team 4-1 on Saturday and shutout on Sunday to Sioux Falls 2 2-0.

Keenan Howard scored the lone goal of the weekend as Barrett Schweitzer had the only assist on the play as the offensive woes lasted through the weekend. Ryan Flanagan had 45 saves on 46 chances for Sioux Falls 1 on Saturday. William McDonnel had two goals including the empty netter on Saturday to secure its win to remain with one loss at now 10-1. Cooper Goehring and Marcus Halling scored both goals for the Sioux Falls 2 Flyers as they’ve now won five in a row to improve to 7-7-0-1.

The Caps have dropped five of its last seven and the goalie matchups don’t get any easier as they face Watertown’s Owen McBride on Saturday.
