Caps Fall to Brookings to Begin Busy Weekend

The Oahe Lady Capitals could not pick up its first two points on the weekend on Friday as the Brookings Rangers won 5-3.

The Rangers took a 1-0 lead at the end of the first period with Kinzey Grendler scored the lone first period goal. Taryn Richter, Savannah Barber and Kiran Vugteveen all scored for the Rangers in the second while Brenna Ullman picked up her second goal of the season. Oahe was able to cut the deficit back to two at 4-2 with Brylee Kafka’s ninth goal of the year in the third period, but it was Grendler’s second of the game to seal the win as Alyssa Stahl added one more for the Lady Caps.

Oahe will face the Sioux Center Storm on Saturday and Sunday. Puck drop will be at 4:30 on Saturday and 11:15 on Sunday.
