The defending state champion, Aberdeen Cougars would beat the Oahe Lady Capitals on Friday with a 7-2 route of the Caps in Aberdeen.
Ashton Lee got the scoring started to give the Lady Capitals an early 1-0 lead but it was five straight through the beginning of the third period for Aberdeen as five different Cougars scored in that span as Morgan Jones and Alyssa Roehrich had two goals apiece. Brylee Kafka added a tally for the Lady Caps while Abigail Stewart-Fromm had 19 saves on 26 shots.
The Lady Caps are now 3-6-2-1 and will look to end its six game winless drought next Friday as they take on Brookings on the road opening a three game weekend.
