Stanley County Boys, Girls Sweep McLaughlin in Makeup Doubleheader

The Stanley County Buffaloes each came away with a win on Monday in a doubleheader rescheduled for earlier in the month as the girls cruised to a 60-17 win while the boys pulled out a 56-43 victory.

The Stanley County girls used a 38-0 run to end the first half with a 40-2 lead and enact the running clock throughout the entire second half. The win is the Buffs second while also ending a five game skid. Mattie Duffy had a game high 14 points for the Lady Buffs while Taylee Stroup had 12 and Jordyn Sosa finished with 11. The Buffs outscored the Mustangs 26-0 in the second quarter.

In a physical high intense boys game, the Buffaloes used the home court to their advantage and pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 13 point win. The Buffs improve to 7-2 with the win and after Broch Zeeb hit a buzzer beater to end the third putting the Buffs up by two, Stanley County outscored the Mustangs by 11 in the final frame. Elias Sims had a game high 21 for the Mustangs, but was held without a point in the fourth. Lathan Prince had a team high 17 for Stanley County while Stran Scott had 13 points and nine rebounds. The field goal by Zeeb was the only points off the bench for the Buffs, who have now won two in a row. Head Coach of the Buffaloes, Max Foth says it was an expected Stanley County performance…
