The Sully Buttes Chargers boys and girls team will host the Miller Rustlers tonight in a 2B doubleheader tonight at the gym in Onida.
In the girls contest, it’s the battle of the top two teams in the Region as the Rustlers at 6-1 are the current top seed while the Chargers at 6-3, are the second seed. Miller was able to defeat Redfield on Tuesday by 31 points, holding the Pheasants to just 15 points. The Rustlers have won three straight heading into tonight.
After a long week for the Chargers which included an overtime game last week, it’s their one and only game of the week. Sully Buttes has dropped its last two but will be looking to put an end to it tonight. This could be a game that goes along way into deciding the top seed in 2B at the end of the regular season.
The Chargers boys are facing a winless Miller team after falling to Redfield on Tuesday and are 0-8 on the season. Sully Buttes comes in having won its second straight and improved to 2-4 after a tough win against Ipswich. Even though Miller is at 0-8, Head Coach of the Sully Buttes Chargers, Brian White says this is still a tough stretch especially this week…
The Chargers could go 3-0 in Region 2B games which could lead to confidence down the road, but White says they’re not looking that far…
White says they rebounded well on Tuesday and they need to continue that into tonight’s game against Miller…
