Beginning in the Spring of 2023, South Dakota will have its inaugural sanctioned softball season. The board unanimously passed an approval of the spring season at Wednesday’s meeting.
In the spring, there’s track and women’s golf currently sanctioned by the South Dakota Activities Association while the fall has cheer and dance, volleyball, soccer and cross country for girls to participate. The move will bring a little more balance to the fall and spring sports.
In March, softball classification will begin.
