Sunday’s loss was a stinger to the Oahe Lady Capitals as they fell to Mitchell 4-3. Yet, they quickly can overcome the loss and beat the Marlins at home on Friday before heading to Huron on Sunday.
The Lady Caps nearly beat the Marlins, one of the upper tier teams in the state on the road last weekend, but knowing they were able to hang with them and lead them for the majority of the game, Oahe has to feel to be in a good spot heading into the weekend. The Marlins are 8-1 and in second place in the standings.
Sunday’s opponent, the Huron All Stars, were one of the Caps three wins on the season to this point as they stormed out to a 7-3 season opening win. The All Stars are 4-9 on the season heading into the weekend and have just five games left with six weeks remaining in the season. The front loaded schedule for the All-Stars is in hopes of their small roster being well rested for the state tournament at the beginning of March. Coverage for Friday’s game will begin at 7:40 tonight with puck drop at 8:00 on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
