Time Runs Out as Governors Fall to Lincoln

The Pierre Governors had their opportunities, but fell just one point short to the Lincoln Patriots on Tuesday 47-46 as they fall to 2-3 on the season.

The Governors trailed just 16-14 at the end of the first quarter and trailed by just a point at the end of the first half, but had to come back from a nine point deficit in the fourth to make a run at the Patriots. Remi Price nailed a three of her team high 16 points to give the Governors a 46-45 lead with just 90 seconds left, but Mariah Siem had a layup on the next possession for Lincoln to give them the lead. The Govs had just one foul in the second half and could not foul six times to get the Patriots to the line as time expired.

The Governors fall to 2-3 on the season while the Patriots improve to 3-3. Pierre will face Washington on Saturday at home. Coverage will begin at 3:40 with tipoff at 4:00 on KCCR, kccrradio.com and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
