Stanley County Commission To Meet Tonight

FORT PIERRE — The Stanley County Commission will open 2022 with its first meeting of the year tonight. The Commission will start by wrapping up any 2021 business before getting into 2022 work. A new chair and vice chair will be selected before Commissioners hear reports from the Treasurer and Auditor. Commissioners will hear from Highway Superintendent Lee Smith and discuss the 2021 Brule County Jail contract. The Commission will also discuss a FEMA Hazard Mitigation grant, TextMyGov messaging app and mobile crisis response agreement with Capital Area Counseling. Commissioners will consider approval of board appointments and other start-of-the-year business. The Commission will give second reading to a redistricting ordinance and will consider an automatic supplement for health insurance for the State’s Attorney. The Stanley County Commission meets tonight at five PM.
