Pierre Girls Head to Sioux Falls to Begin 2022

The Pierre Governor girls basketball team opened the season with two losses at home against the Rapid City teams. But a weekend sweep of Sturgis and Spearfish have evened its record and tonight, on the road again, the Govs will look to go over .500 against the Lincoln Patriots.

The Governors jumped to seventh place in the AA standings with the two wins over the final weekend before Christmas, and even though its early, it tells you the quality teams the Govs have faced in its first four games, considering there are three teams behind them with an extra win. But the Lincoln Patriots are 2-3 with wins over Yankton and Harrisburg but have lost to both Washington and Jefferson. Lincoln last played on Dec. 28 in a seven point loss to Marshall, Minnesota.

Beebout says just because Lincoln’s record is at 2-3 it shouldn’t fool you…

Beebout says the Governors are going to have to focus and execute on each possession tonight against the Patriots…

Coverage tonight from Sioux Falls will begin at 6:40 with tipoff at 7:00 on your home for Governor Sports, KCCR, kccrradio.com and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
