The Oahe Lady Capitals had the Mitchell Marlins on the ropes Sunday afternoon on the road, but the Marlins would score twice the in the third period to beat the Caps 4-3.
Adisyn Gray and Cami Larson both scored in the first period as the Capitals opened up a 2-1 lead at the end of the first and Ashton Lee gave the Caps a 3-1 lead early on in the second period, but the Marlins would make their comeback. Brooke Jarman finished with a hat trick but scored her second of the game to pull Mitchell within one heading into the third period and with under six minutes left in the third, Kelsey Amick would tie the game at 3-3 before Jarman netted her hat trick and game winning goal with just under two minutes left. Abigail Stewart-Fromm made 45 saves on 49 shots while Sadie Kludt had 16 saves on 19 shots against in the win.
The Lady Caps fall to 3-3-1-1 while the Marlins improve to 8-1 on the year. The two teams will battle again on Friday night at the Expo Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 8:00 with coverage at 7:40 on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports.
