Sunday, the Oahe Lady Capitals will have a tough test to begin the 2022 portion of the season as they travel to Mitchell to face an offensive juggernaut in the Marlins.
The Marlins are 6-1 so far this season and have averaged seven goals per game while allowing just two per game. The Marlins already have five players with 10-plus points including Brooke Jarman with 17 goals, tied for second in the league and Kelsey Amick with 11 assists, which is third best in South Dakota.
The Capitals will look to counter the Marlin offense with Abigail Stewart-Fromm who has not allowed a goal in her last two games, although the second game ended in a tie. Olivia Swenson returns back to the lineup this weekend as she and Ashton Lee have combined for 15 goals on their line. Brylee Kafka is second on the team with six goals for Oahe who sit at 3-2-1-1.
Puck drop is scheduled for 2:00 from the Mitchell Toshiba. The two teams will play again next Friday, Jan. 7, which will be the next the girls broadcast on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports.
