Stanley County, Jones County Split in Doubleheader

Both Stanley County teams traveled down to Murdo on Tuesday for a doubleheader with Jones County earning a split with the Coyote girls winning 56-26 and the Buffalo boys defeating Jones County 56-41.

The Lady Buffaloes are now 1-4 on the season heading into the Christmas break while Jones County is now at 3-1. The Coyotes have rolled to its three wins so far on the season with just a five point loss to a 5-1 Wall Eagles. The Lady Buffaloes will have extra time before its next game when they play on January 4. The Coyotes will be in the Huron Classic next week to face an undefeated De Smet.

The Buffalo boys team won every quarter to its 15 point win over Jones County improving to 3-1 with its third straight victory. Stanley County’s second quarter propelled them to a win outscoring the Coyotes 17-6 in the quarter to lead 30-17 at the break. Jones County falls to 0-3 on the season.

Stanley County and Highmore-Harrold have a doubleheader scheduled for Tuesday Jan. 4, although the Pirates will play Wessington Springs prior to the Buffaloes coming to town. The doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 6:00 at the Hyde County Auditorium.
