PIERRE — The Pierre City Commission is meeting tonight at the Pierre Municipal Building. The meeting will start with two updates in special business. Commissioners will hear both a utility rate reminder for 2022 and get an update on water system flushing, which was expected to end if not completed by Christmas. Commissioners will consider approval of a seven item consent calendar before getting into two items of unfinished business. Commissioners will consider a bid award for 2022 water materials and second reading of a 2022 budget supplement regarding Airport Road STIP funds. New business includes consideration of a request for SDSU Brookings day on January 19th to have alcohol at the South Dakota Discovery Center and an update on the winter Seasoned Citizens program. The Commission will discuss close-out of the East River Substation project, a recycling agreement with Envirotech and 2021 budget transfers. The Pierre City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 PM.
