The Pierre Governor girls and boys basketball teams each picked up two wins over the weekend as the boys won at home and the girls on the road over Sturgis and Spearfish.
The Governor boys found a 65-19 route over Sturgis on Friday night and a little bit harder contest on Saturday leading 35-30 at half over Spearfish but ended with an 82-65 win to improve to 4-0. The Governors were led by Lincoln Kienholz who had 24 of his 31 in the second half while Christian Busch picked up a season high 17 points and Jackson Edman ended with 12.
The Governor girls found its first two victories over the weekend with a win over Sturgis 52-24 on Friday in a route and then another 23 point victory over Spearfish on Saturday winning 57-34. It’s two big wins for the Governors who were held out of the win column at home the weekend prior.
Both Governor teams are off until Thursday, January 6 when they take on Sioux Falls Lincoln. The girls will be in Sioux Falls while the boys will host the Patriots.
