Oahe Capitals Dominant in Boys/Girls Doubleheader Sweep of Yankton

Both Oahe Capitals teams used a running clock in blow out wins over Yankton on Saturday as the girls won 7-1 while the boys won 11-0.

Ashton Lee had two goals while Brylee Kafka, Kierstan Miller, Katherine Reiss, Brenna Ullman and Micah Buffalo all scored for Lady Caps who snapped a three game losing skid. Abigail Stewart-Fromm made all 10 saves in net before Sophia Peschong got her first chance to play this season and made five saves on six chances in five and a half minutes of action in the third period.

The Oahe boys received a hat trick from Keenan Howard and two goals from Carter Sanderson in an 11-0 route of the Bucks. Andre Carbonneau, Jon Lyons, Jaden Flor, Carter Gordon, Ashston Griese and Riley Pfeifer all scored in the fifth win of the season for the Capitals. Carter Schulz had 12 saves in his first shutout of the regular season.

Both teams will play Yankton again on Sunday with the girls playing first at 3:00 and the boys at 5:00 at the Expo Center in Ft. Pierre.
