The Pierre Governor Boys basketball team will be at home for the first time this weekend as they welcome in Sturgis tonight and Spearfish on Saturday.
The Governors had two impressive wins and are receiving votes into the latest prep poll while the Friday’s opponent is struggling to find any wins. The Sturgis Scoopers were defeated by Class A Belle Fourche on Tuesday and lost to Spearfish to begin the season. The Scoopers are 0-2 while the Spearfish Spartans have beaten both Belle Fourche and Sturgis to open the season at 2-0. The Spartans will face the 2-0 Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles on Friday. Aberdeen and Pierre both have beaten the Rapid City schools last weekend.
