The Pierre Governor boys basketball team moved to 3-0 after a convincing win 65-19 over the Sturgis Scoopers on Friday night in the home opener.
The Governors used six different dunks on the evening as Jackson Edman scored 19 points with 10 coming way of a slam. Lincoln Kienholz was tied for the game high 19 for Pierre as 10 players scored in the win. The defense for Pierre held the Scoopers to just seven first quarter points, five second quarter points and just two third quarter points. The Governors out-rebounded the Scoopers 31-24.
The Pierre girls picked up its first win with a 52-24 victory on the road in Sturgis. The Governors are now 1-2 and will face Spearfish on Saturday with tipoff at 3:00 Central Time. The Governor boys will face Spearfish who fell to Aberdeen Central on Friday at 2:00 with pregame coverage at 1:40 on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler and Greg Dean on the call.
