This weekend both Oahe Capitals varsity teams will welcome in Yankton for a boys and girls doubleheader on Saturday and Sunday.
Both Capital teams are looking for wins after losing its only game of the week last weekend. The Lady Caps are now 2-2-0-1 on the season and have dropped three straight and will be looking for two wins over the Gazelles who have historically struggled due to small numbers and still being a newer program. However, Yankton picked up its first win last weekend defeating the Watertown Lakers 3-1, a team which defeated the Caps a couple of weeks ago. Yankton currently sits at 1-3-0-1. Ashton Lee is tied for seventh in goals in the state with nine through five games.
The Oahe boys team will look to take out its frustration over the weekend after its lost to Rushmore last Sunday. The Bucks have yet to win a game and have been outscored 48-1 in its four losses. Carter Sanderson is currently sitting second in goals in the state with 11 and Ashton Griese is fourth in assists with nine. The Capitals sit at 4-1 on the season and in third place heading into the weekend.
