The Winner Warriors both were in the win column on Tuesday night as they beat the Stanley County Buffaloes as the girls won 64-24 and the boys score was 55-36.
The Warrior girls, who lost Saturday’s opener to Wagner came out with a vengeance in the opening quarter leading the Lady Buffs 21-0. Winner continued to pour it on leading 43-8 at the end of the first half and had the running clock rolling the entire second half. Bella Swedlund led all scores with 28 for Winner while Stanley County was led by Jordyn Sosa with eight points. Stanley County drops to 0-3 on the young season.
The second quarter was the dominating quarter for Winner in the boys contest as they outscored the Buffs 17-2 leading 32-10 at the break. Lathan Prince and Cormac Duffy had double figures for Stanley County with 14 and 12 respectively. Winner’s Blake Volmer had the game high 21 points in the win. Stanley County falls in its opener.
The Buffaloes will host Phillip on Thursday in Ft. Pierre in a doubleheader. The girls game is scheduled to begin at 6:00 with the boys game to follow.
